Sep 01 Tuesday 19.00 CONCERT Horsegirl – the Chicago-born and New York-based trio of best friends Nora Cheng, Penelope Lowenstein, and Gigi Reece – have released their second album "Phonetics On and On" via Matador Records. Produced by Cate Le Bon and recorded at "The Loft" in Chicago (the band's original and musical home), "Phonetics On and On" is an exploration of the boundaries between pop, minimalism, and playful experimentation. It's hard to imagine these songs could have been written by anyone other than Nora, Penelope, and Gigi. Horsegirl write with unexpected honesty, leading us through scenes from their childhood and youth. They are moments from their lives. The undeniable truth is that Horsegirl is a band of best friends; when you're around them, you see that love in their eyes, and it's always a joy to witness.
