Axel Hacke reads and tells stories. Over many decades, Hacke has written several thousand columns, primarily for the Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin, in addition to more than thirty books. And what does he do now? He tells us how he did it. He also reads to us. But because he can't read everything (certainly not in one evening), he only reads the best, yes, to be precise, the very best, the funniest, the most thought-provoking, the wisest, the most cheerful, so that one can say: He has actually prepared his entire life as an author just for this evening, yes, exactly: for the best evening, no, the very best. Axel Hacke lives as a writer in Munich. His column Das Beste aus aller Welt is famous, which he has published every Friday for decades in the Süddeutsche Zeitung magazine. His books are bestsellers. His work has been awarded, among others, the Joseph-Roth-Preis, two Egon-Erwin-Kisch- Preisen, the Theodor-Wolff-Preis, and most recently the Ben-Witter-Preis 2019.
