Mareike Fallwickl

Mareike Fallwickl presents her novel, which tells the story of Luzia, who grows up in a loving community that offers refuge to diverse people and practices various forms of love, including queer and platonic love, as well as shared parenthood. As an adult, Luzia, a theater director, fights patriarchal structures. Her friend Marle decides to have a child outside of dating and relationships with men and finds great solidarity within their shared house. However, after a devastating storm, everything this chosen family has built over decades seems threatened. The book questions our beliefs about friendship and romance, advocating for a desired utopia in life. Fallwickl previously published "Dunkelgrün fast schwarz" in 2018 and "Das Licht ist hier viel heller" in 2019.
