Art in Dialogue IV: Color Moods

Step into the Archiv Geiger and experience "Art in Dialogue IV: Color Moods," a fascinating exhibition that pairs the works of Rupprecht Geiger with Munich-based artist Angela Stauber. Smaller ink studies by Stauber guide you through the exhibition, building up to two large oil paintings. Stauber, trained at the Munich Art Academy, transforms her own digital photographs into abstract pieces on canvas, paper, or wood, leaving only an echo of the original motif. Geiger's abstract late works also draw from earlier figurative landscapes, visible in his color divisions and his signature circle symbolizing the sun. This exhibition connects their positions beautifully: Geiger dissolves his visual language into pure color portraits inspired by the sky, while Stauber distills the mood from public spaces, releasing it in abstract form.
