Alfred Dorfer

GLEICH In his current solo show, the satirical one-man theater piece titled "GLEICH," Alfred Dorfer, as is characteristic of him, elegantly and rapidly slips into the most diverse characters. On stage, we see not only grandmothers and innkeepers, but also bears, carp, and sunflowers. In "GLEICH," a story is told through numerous narrative and temporal digressions. Can we take what we see at face value? Time levels blur into one another, as do poetry and wordplay, philosophy and fantasy. In the German-speaking world, the satirist with a penchant for socio-political themes is unique in his characteristic form of presentation. His mime and acting training benefits the Viennese artist in this regard. With sympathetic sovereignty and much self-irony, Alfred Dorfer, as a keen observer of our everyday lives, targets societal trends as a rhetorical Bruder Leichtfuß. He playfully and skillfully engages with his audience. Nothing and no one is safe from his unexpected trains of thought.
