Your venue may already be listed

Venued keeps a directory of places events happen, so that an organiser picking a location finds the real one instead of typing a new address every time. Your venue may be in it before you ever sign up.

Claiming it makes it yours: you get the page, the details and anything sent through it. Until a venue is claimed, nobody is presented as speaking for it.

An organiser looking for a place browses the whole directory, not a shortlist we have vetted, so your listing can be found before you have touched it.

The page is the editor

Your venue’s public page and the screen you edit it on are the same screen. Click the description to write it, the photos to change them, the contact line to fix it. What you arrange is what visitors see at venued.eu/v/<id>.

Your photos are the cover. They are the strongest thing you have, and an organiser scrolling a list of places is looking at them before they read a word.

What makes you findable

Fill in the attributes, not just the prose. What kind of place it is, what people can do there, capacity seated and standing, amenities, price level, neighbourhood, opening hours, what it is good for. These are what an organiser filters on, and a filter is absolute: a blank field is a filtered search you cannot appear in, however well the rest of your page reads.

The words are more forgiving than the fields. An organiser’s search no longer has to use your wording: places whose text matches come first, and after them Venued adds places that are close in meaning. A German compound and its English equivalent now reach the same listings, so a conference hotel can be found by somebody typing tagungshotel without ever having used that word.

Enquiries and bookings

An organiser can ask about your space from your page. You see what they are planning, when, and roughly how many people, and you answer with your terms. Any conversation stays on Venued, so both sides have the same record of what was agreed.

This works before you have claimed anything. An organiser can ask about an unclaimed listing in the ordinary way, and the Venued team passes the request on to you. The organiser’s side reads the same either way, so nothing about it tells them whether you are here yet.

Running your own events

A venue can also be the organiser. If you run your own nights, you publish them from the same account: your venue is the location, and the tickets are yours.

Venues through the API

A venue key can read the places it is responsible for with GET/v1/venues, and the events happening at them with GET/v1/events.
